How to Measure
Parts for a Custom Dipping Quotation
(Please Read Carefully)
To quote a
part for custom dipping you need to
determine the surface area (square
inches) of the part. To do this,
measure the longest width and
height point of each part. So, a simple
thin flat square part that measures 10" x
10", would have a surface area
of 100 square inches.
However, parts are not always that simple and
to help properly measure your
parts, we've included some photos
below to help.
NOTE!
An extra 10% needs to be
added to the square inches of your
parts to account for the extra film
that is used to coat your parts
during the dipping process. So, if a
part measured 100 square inches, we
would use 110 square inches of film.
TIP! If your part has
irregular shapes that are difficult to
run a measuring tape over, use a
string to go over the part first,
then lay the string down straight
over a measuring tape to get your
measurement.
Once you have
all your measurements,
please send a quote request to
sales@bitrim.com and include the
dimensions, surface area
calculations, photos (if you have
them) and descriptions of each part
that you would like pricing on. For
example, "Driver Door Switch, 110
square inches (10"x10"+10%)"
